Jump

I get up, and nothing gets me down.
You got it tough, I've seen the toughest around.
And I know, baby, just how you feel.
You've got to roll with the punches, to get to what's real.
Ah, can't ya see me standin' here?
I got my back against the record machine.
I ain't the worst that you've seen.
Ah, can't you see what I mean?

Ah, might as well jump, jump.

Go ahead and jump.

Might as well jump, jump.

Go ahead and jump.

Oh! hey you! who said that ?

Baby how you been?

You say you don't know.

You won't know until you begin.

So can't ya see me standin' here?
I got my back against the record machine.
I ain't the worst that you've seen.
Ah, can't you see what I mean? Ah, might as well jump, jump.

Go ahead and jump.

Might as well jump, jump.

Go ahead and jump.

Jump.Might as well jump, jump.

Go ahead and jump.

Get it and, jump. Jump.

Go ahead and jump.

Jump. Jump. Jump. Jump.

Today, was Jump Rope for Heart at school. Ammy raised enough money for a jump rope and a t-shirt. She's been jumping since she got home...forwards, backwards, sideways, on one foot, etc.

I think Spring is on the way--we had a very warm day today and the kids have been playing outside. Except for Kellen-he has strep again. Third time in a month and a half. I'm losing my sense of humor!

Who Knew

One little hole could cause so much damage. Yes, it's my pipe that is leaking and it's all because of this.
And yes, the plumbers thought that I was crazy for taking pictures!

Fat Tuesday

I am on the Youth and Family Ministry committee at church and I was in charge of the decorations for the annual Pancake Supper. I had a lot of fun buying decorations. We had purple and green tablecloths--they were sold out of gold when I went two days before the event. We hold the event in the Great Hall of the church, which I might add, is the ugliest space for an event EVER!

I found a Mardi Gras Scene Setter...I love these things! We pinned it to the curtain on the stage and it gave us a slight New Orleans feel.
We made masks...

We had Mardi Gras placemats for the kids and the adults. Placemats included a word jumble, info about King Cakes, and a Mardi Gras trivia quiz.

And we had King Cakes with plastic babies inside. Oh, and I made 200 pancakes before the event even started. If I never see another pancake, it will be too soon!

DO NOT TOUCH

In the great room switch, Tyler's pillows ended up missing when it was time to go to bed. He stole Ammy's pillows and went to sleep. This morning, when I went in Tyler's room this is what I found on his bed...

She scares me.

Fifteen

How did this happen so quickly? Happy 15th Birthday Tyler.

P.S. Next time you might want to let me take a good picture of you instead of giving me the hand and saying, "What?"

Progress

The Twins are Moving

The twins are moving into a new bedroom. They decided they wanted to switch rooms with Tyler, so when I returned from California, I started working on their new room. They wanted a green and blue room with a stripe. What a pain in the rear the stripe was to do!

I still have one more coat of the blue to finish. I couldn't resist peeling some of the tape though. This gives you an idea of what the end result will be.
I am off to paint again. I am the queen of the unfinished project, so I have a bet with my husband that I will finish this one! Pictures of the COMPLETED project will be coming soon!

Denial

Well, we're back from California and have hit the ground running. Reality is harsh. As I type this, a plumber is digging up the side of our private driveway that we share with two other houses to determine where a major leak is coming from. The pipes that lead from the main road cover over a tenth of a mile before they branch off to our houses. Depending on the damage, the entire driveway might have to be dug up and the pipes replaced. The person whose pipes are damaged is responsible for paying for the repairs. YIKES! I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is not our problem. Especially since we just resided our house this past week.

Anyway, for the next few minutes, I am going to live in denial and act as if it couldn't possible be my problem. Instead, I am pretending that I am still the relaxed person that I was on vacation just a few days ago. I leave you with some of the pictures we took on our trip--I love fresh flowers and they were everywhere in Napa...inside and out.

SPT

The first thing that attracted me to you is...
You were sober, you looked like Tom Hanks in a baseball hat, your eyes and you were employed! Yes, employed, that was a big thing to a girl who had just graduated from college!

Double Rainbow

It stopped raining for about 20 minutes today and the sun came out. Of course the rain started again, but this is what we saw in the sky as we walked around St. Helena. Have you ever seen a double rainbow?

Lance.

Yesterday, the first stage of the Amgen Tour of California rode through downtown Calistoga. Two days ago we heard that Lance wasn't riding in it. (My source was a waiter in a restaurant that I over heard talking to two of his buddies) Yesterday at our first wine tasting, we heard that he was indeed riding. We had time to kill between lunch and our afternoon wine tour and tasting so we decided to hang out and watch the race come through town. People lined the streets of downtown. The weather as you can see was wet and cold. As a result, the riders were over 45 minutes late coming through.
I just knew that Lance would be the first one to ride through. Afterall, he's the best in the world right? Well, I was wrong (and the poor guy had his bike stolen so he definitely wasn't on his game) This guy was the first one to come through and he was 10 minutes ahead of the competition.
Lance wasn't second or third either. He was in this group though. The bulk of the riders in the race came through at the same time. It was a total blur of bodies and bicycles. I heard Lance was wearing all black. Maybe this is him. Maybe not. This is what the majority of my pictures looked like...just a blur.
This is the video that Tony took with his Blackberry Bold. It's pretty cool. If you figure out which one is Lance, please let me know.
